Clifton 45 Multi Plane Ref: C45

Clifton produce the only new multi plane of any merit made today and it’s handsome price tag should not really shock you as this plane is a classic.

If you are a hand tool worker then this plane will give you hours of quiet fun and satisfaction. Once you have mastered the 45 you will find that it is surprisingly quick to use.

The plane body is nickel plated with rosewood handle, fence & knob. It comes packaged in a neat wooden box with 23 quality cutters comprising 14 plough & dado cutters from 1/8” to 1 1¼” wide: 5 beading cutters (1/8” to ½”), ¼” & 3/8” ovolos and two tongueing cutters (3/16” & ¼”). A slitting cutter is also supplied with the plane as well as an Instruction booklet.

For the more ambitious of you there is also an additional set of 16 cutters - 2 sash; 6 fluting; 4 multiple beads (2, 3, 4 & 5) and 4 multiple reed cutters (2, 3, 4 & 5). Code CMP16

There are plenty of discarded Stanley 45’s and Record 405’s out there as most folk now use routers but just be careful that you get a good one with all the cutters, depth stops etc.
