In response to customer requests Classic Hand Tools have been persuaded (gently) to stock these woodcarving mallets from the USA.These mallets are made with an American maple handle and a urethane head that is guaranteed unbreakable. They are designed to be quiet and yet able to transmit the maximum force to the tool. These mallets come in 2 sizes, with 2 weights per size. The smaller sizes seem to be the most popular (judging by sales at recent shows) but the biggies also appeal to those of you doing larger scale work or for general joinery.

Veritas Journeymans Brass Mallet Ref: VE1407

This mallet can be used with a traditional grip or can be nestled in the palm of your hand to exactly control the force used - this is very useful when you are doing very fine work.

Unique to this type of mallet, the brass head has a threaded connection rather than a through hole on the handle.

1 5/8" diameter. Cherry handle.
